Fr. Tom Wells, MA, MDiv.
Fr. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Catechetics (religious educaction) and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, and a Master of Divinity from Sts. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fr. Tom served as a parish Director of Religious Education for 12 years for the Archdioceses of Galveston-Houston. He retired in 2015 from a career in the oil and gas industry. Fr. Tom and Pani Mary are married for more than 40 years. They have two married children and five grandchildren.
Deacon David Dominguez
David Dominguez is a proud, native Houstonian. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. David has been a teacher in public and parochial schools for 7 years. Previously, he worked as a case manager for unaccompanied minors detained at the border. David and his wife Aly have been married for more than 14 years and have a daughter, Melina.
Deacon Andrew Veres, MA
Deacon Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Dayton and a Master of Arts in Education from Ohio State University. He served nine years on the Board of Trustees at the University of Dayton. Deacon Andrew ran a small family business for 30 years. He, and his wife, Barbara, have been married for more than 55 years and have three daughters and seven grandchildren.
Seminarian Ryan Black, Th.M, MDiv.
Ryan is originally from Central Florida. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, a Master of Arts in Theology and a Master of Divinity from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Ryan moved to Houston in 2006 and became a parishioner at St. John Chrysostom. He has 13 years of teaching experience, mostly at the high school level. His son, Nicholas, is also a parishioner at St. John Chrysostom.
Mr. Samuel Sentmanat - Head Cantor
Over the last ten years, Samuel has participated in and directed church music. In 2011, he co-founded a nonprofit for string instruction and performance while beginning his colledge education at the University of St. Thomas. Since that time, he has managed his own string program and taught music for private schools. His focus is on music of the medieval and renaissance eras, particularly Gregorian chant, which he fosters at parishes throughout Houston. Samuel grew up in the Byzantine Catholic Church from childhood and has a strong affinity for the Church's traditions, its liturigcal life and ethos. He is happy to be able to return to St. John Chrysostom Parish, and to share his love of the Church's traditions with his young family of three children.
